The Criminal Code of the Republic of Moldova does not contain the criminal norm providing smuggling of migrants, but this provision is provided by the Protocol against Smuggling of Migrants. The commitments assumed by the Republic of Moldova regarding the protection of the rights and freedoms of migrants is ensured by adopting a criminal norm according to the Protocol.
