Abstract

The article deals with personal and creative relationships of the classic of Ukrainian literature M. Coţiubinschi in Bessarabia. It investigates the key story of the "Bessarabian cycle" - "Для загального добра". The peasant Zamfir Neron is analyzed as the embodiment of national character and the symbolic significance of the vine is developed, identifying the essence of the conflict and the role of the open ending.
