Abstract
The geopolitical and socio-economic evolution of the second half of the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st century put humanity in front of a vital problem: how to develop civilization continuously, without destroying the balance of the planet. In this context, waste management represents one of the important problems faced by humanity in the whole world including the Republic of Moldova. The prevention of waste generation, through the use of modern and innovative technologies, as well as the transformation of produced waste into a resource, are the main objectives of the environmental policy, reflected in the legislation of the field, which must be fully implemented through the country.
