Abstract
Knowing the importance and value of oak species from the national forest fund, were analyzed the requirements of native oak species (Quercus robur, Q. petraea, Q. pubescens) towards various physico-geographic parameters, with the purpose of identifying the limits and the optimal niches for their development. It was identified that the most demanding oak species to substrate conditions and climatic parameter values are Quercus petraea and Quercus robur, toward Quercus pubescens which is more tolerant to high annual average temperatures, and little rainfall. This explains the future trends of Quercus pubescens which in the context of climate aridization, can easily adapt to the drought and occupy new sectors, in the detriment of the Quercus robur and Quercus petraea species.
