Abstract

The study has as objective the presentation of some key concepts, which are necessary in order to understand the collective memory, the way in which the collective memory frames are formed and kept in time, but also the relation between memory and oblivion at the collective identity level. М. Halbwachs founded social studies of memory. His works include the issue of correlation of individual and collective memory, cultural memory functions.
