Abstract
The monograph synthesizes the results of theoretical and experimental research regarding the initiation and development of electrical discharges in pulses between electrodes situated in dielectric media, and the effects caused by the interaction of the plasma channel with the surfaces of the electrodes. A new physical model for material sampling during electro erosion is proposed, based on the development of capillary waves on the surface of the molten metal in the electric field of the electrical discharges in pulses. Electrode spots are considered as sources of electric fields and heat. Technological processes for modifying the microgeometry of surfaces, forming deposition layers from compact materials and powders, surface chemical-thermal treatment using electrical discharges in pulses, and the formation of 3D carbon deposits on metal surfaces are presented. The paper is addressed to specialists in the field in nonconventional technologies of processing materials, researchers, doctoral and master's students, engineers and students of specialized faculties.
