The European Agencies, without which the institutional system of the European Union cannot be conceived, are decentralized bodies created by a legislative act and empowered with a specific mission. Essentially, the role of the European agencies consists in supporting the actors involved in the decision-making process in realizing legal, technical and even scientific tasks. European agencies have a word to say in almost all areas of activity of the European Union, from health to external relations and social policy. In this article the authors elucidate the particularities of the European Union agencies, placing a particular emphasis on the essence and role of the executive agencies and formulating some recommendations on the research topic.en
