In this article I will address two fundamental principles that underpin the branch of social protection law: the principle of equality and uniqueness. Both are important for the work of institutions in the social protection system, and I have analysed each of them in turn and drawn conclusions towards the end. The system of social protection being a complex and variable one, it has some principles on which it is always based, these being that of equality and uniqueness, whereby the state provides various forms of social protection equally to all citizens and uniquely.en
