Abstract
The article deals with the problem of aesthetic education of children with special educational needs. The role of art, its impact on the successful teaching and adaptation of children in the general education are shown. The tasks of the aesthetic orientation of the curriculum in work with this category of children are determined. The necessity of providing methodically correct perception of works of art and the necessity of taking into account the peculiarities of psychophysi-cal development of special children, are substantiated. Particular attention is paid to the development of the emotional sphere of schoolchildren, as this affects the development of significant mental processes, thinking, memory, attention, perception, and imagination.
