Abstract

The interaction between the Romanian and Yiddish languages during the interwar period in Romania was marked by mutual influences, reflecting the historical and cultural contacts between the Jewish and Romanian communities. This study reveals the nuances of linguistic borrowing and cultural assimilation through an examination of historical documents, literary works and socio-cultural contexts. It explores the impact of Yiddish-speaking intellectuals on Romanian literature, music and culture, highlighting the cross-cultural fertilization that enriched artistic expression and intellectual discourse in interwar Romania.
