This article analyzes the etymology related to wine terminology and the previous researched approaches. In the last decades there have been sporadic researches on the etymology of wine terms and their evolution over time. We will shed light on the evolution of the wine lexicon, but also on the current use of wine terminology. Although wine terms from various languages are used in the modern Romanian vocabulary, the weight of the Latin element in wine terminology is definitely highlighted.Item Istoria deportării în Siberia a familiei primarului Ion Arhip Colesnic din Grinăuţi-raia (raionuL Ocniţa) [Articol](USARB, 2023) Capcelea, Victor; Capcelea, Olesea; Muntean, NicolinaIn this scientific publication is described the history of the mayor Ion Arhip Colesnic from the town of Grinăuţi-Raia (Ocniţa district), who was deported by the Soviet power to Siberia. Our research focuses on the metaphor “Wines are People”, which is the most widespread in tasting notes and reflects a variety of wine dimensions, including physical and visual appearance, traits of character, age, life cycle, etc. In this article we are mainly concerned with the wine lexicon, with identification, grouping and analysis of conceptual metaphors related to the description of wine based on 35 examples of tasting notes published in well-known British and American magazines and leading wine websites. The analysis reveals the fact that wine critics and sommeliers very often use subjective poetic wine descriptions, some of them are too general: “fine” or “yummy” and others are conveying the same meaning as in human description: “beautiful”, “elegant”, “charming”.Item Unele observaţii despre lexicul vinicol în limbajul actual [Articol](USARB, 2023) Muntean, NicolinaWine terminology represents a vast field that is continuously developing. The variety of this terminology is determined by the importance of vine growing and winemaking in the Republic of Moldova. Since the term "wine" comes from the Latin "vinum", we observe common roots of the word in Fr. "vin", It. "vino", En. "wine", Ger. "Wein". And the wine lexicon enriches the current language with an astonishing varietyof terms, either technical, such as:"thermoregulation" or "cryoconcentration", or of foreign origin, for example: "fine wine" or "flying winemaker". On the other hand, we observe the appearance of metaphors based on analogies of form (weight, etc.), flavor (spicy, fruity, refined, etc.), character (soft, swirly, etc.), space (Italian, French, etc.) etc. The present article could be analyzed from both perspectives, etymologically and lexically.
