    This article points out the essence of music perception by means of color and light. The author examines the phenomenon of musical s y n a e s t h e s i a and launches some methodical approaches in the development of musical timbre hearing of the children of preschool age. The author suggests a model of the phenomenon application in the process of musical education. The article is based on the latest researches in the field of musical synaesthe-sia underlining the similarities between the sound and the color.
