Item Bref aperçu sur l’emprunt de l’anglais en français (les anglicismes) [Articol](USARB, 2024) Creciun, Dana; Foghel, Ecaterina, conducător şt.Today, the English language is spoken in various corners of the world; it is used in the fields of work, technology, education, tourism, and in many other domains. Unfortunately, in some countries, such as France, English words are increasingly used by speakers instead of finding equivalents in their own language. This linguistic phenomenon is known under the name of Anglicism. The French Academy fights against this phenomenon every day, but the results are not visible. The question that arises is whether it is possible to fight against this phenomenon. Therefore, the purpose of this article is to consider some solutions related to the issue of Anglicisms use rise in the French language. Thus, we will first discuss the historical context within which Anglicisms emerged in the French language. We will see what the term Anglicism means, also mentioning its typology. Then we will discuss the impact of Anglicisms on the French language. At the same time, we will try to understand why it is easier for the French to use English words in some domains, such as the field of work, education, technology, instead of using French equivalents. Finally, we will reflect on a strategy, a solution to this major problem.
