Challenges of Teaching EFL to Part-Time Students in Moldova [Articol]
(USARB, 2024) Baghici, Nicoleta; Ceh, Oxana

    (USARB, 2018) Baghici, Nicoleta
Legal terms can be mapped from annotated corpuses. A "semantic annotation" presents a much more precise description of the knowledge contained in the texts and of its semantics in the legal field. A semantic annotation has to be well defined, easy to understand by the experts in the field, and not ambiguous. To meet these requirements, a semantic annotation must be based on a formal model of the domain. Texts with terms annotated with the corresponding legal concepts describing this field will improve the process of extracting information from texts and documents with legal content for Romanian as well. Texts will help achieve far more qualitative results in Automated Translations by disambiguating legal terms. Annotation of legal texts can not be achieved without specific tools. In this case study, we will proceed to analyzing the Constitution concept with the PaLinKa software. In recent years, the need to produce reusable cells has led to an increasing use of XML encoding in annotation. As a result, annotation can not be applied using simple text editors. In addition, discourse annotation is usually complicated and requires specialized tools. In this subchapter, we will present the most important features of an annotation speech tool. PaLinKa, the instrument presented in this paper, meets all these requirements, being appropriate for annotation of the legal texts.

Cultural competence in business english terminology [Articol]
    (USARB, 2022) Baghici, Nicoleta
The purpose of this paper is to demonstrate the growing importance of intercultural competence in teaching and learning Business English in terms of cultural awareness, which aids in communicating successfully – both linguistically and pragmatically– in a foreign language, in this case English, in various business contexts across cultures. Cultural competence refers to a person's ability to interact, work, and form meaningful connections with others from a variety of cultural backgrounds. The ideas, practices, and actions of people from diverse groups might be considered cultural background. Increasing self-awareness, developing social skills and behaviors surrounding diversity, and learning to advocate for others are all part of the process of achieving cultural competency. It extends beyond tolerance, which indicates a willingness to put differences aside. Instead, it entails recognizing and valuing variety in all circumstances via our words and deeds.

The legal language as a semiotic system [Articol]
    (USARB, 2016) Baghici, Nicoleta
The article focuses on the principles of developing an annotated corpus for processing documents of legal discourse. Studying the content of the concept in the speakers' mind should be made based on the totality of heterogeneous media, describing it in language. On the other hand, it is necessary to note that not necessarily that all conceptual information may become linguistic expression, some of it may be stored in memory in the form of other mental representations, of non-linguistic type - in the form of images, photos diagrams, etc. The concept of Constitution in American linguistic consciousness has a special meaning, it covers practically all spheres of American society. According to the language direction this article approaches in the main study, the concept of Constitution can be characterized, for example, as an axiological one, because it is linked indissolubly, from individual basic values of a society, together with concepts such as democracy, freedom, etc., that have left a mark in the history of state formation.

The legal text: constitution, concepts, characteristics [Articol]
    (USARB, 2018) Baghici, Nicoleta
According to the constructive interdisciplinarity, the text draws attention of the theorists for several decades. In the new approaches, the text calls for complex research, including research centered on determining the mechanisms of producing and meaning understanding. A legal text is very different from ordinary speech. The concept of text is not identical at all authors, and sometimes it does not even have the same acceptance for one and the same author. However the legal text is based on the use of language, which is more than a stock of words, it is an instrument and an image, an object of power that seeks to be captured. The legal text reflects the terms and expressions of a legal system. In the legal text, language is a means of expression and texts constitute the main object of study. It is indisputable that law could not exist without a means of expression. The legal texts are very different depending on the type of legal act and its transmitters, are not uniform, as the legislator issues law, the judges speak it, the jurists comment on it, and the practitioners apply it. The style of law will differ from the style of a court order or a regulation. The proper drafting of the various types of texts is very important if we want the legal rules to be effective, that the judgments have exactly the same value that the judges impose on them, that the intention of the parties to a bilateral act to be expressed in the proper way. From this perspective, legal texts need to be coherent, drafted in impeccable style with the clearv use of terminology.

Non-verbal signs of aggression in american political discourse [Articol]
    (USARB, 2025) Baghici, Nicoleta
The article explores non-verbal signs of aggression in American political discourse, particularly in the speeches of Donald Trump. It highlights how body language, including gestures and facial expressions and touch, can convey aggressive sentiments despite the formal nature of political debates. Trump's use of pointed gestures and dominant handshakes are identified as key non-verbal strategies to assert control and express hostility. Understanding these signals enhances the analysis of political communication beyond verbal content.

Thematic groups of legal terms and professionalisms and the peculiarities of their significance [Articol]
    (USARB, 2022) Baghici, Nicoleta
