    The article deals with data management research, which involves the scientific and effective management of all data generated from research activities. Scientific databases, electronic journals, open electronic libraries, national and international repositories are nominated as tools that provide open access to research. The library, as key research institution, has an important role to play in identifying new tools and technologies that would facilitate the retrieval of resources and collections, expanding the information potential. The USARB Scientific Library is in constant search for new sources of communication and dissemination of scientific research results.

    Centrul de Informare al României din Bălţi - pilon important în păstrarea identităţii naționale [Articol]

    The article highlights the fundamental role of the Romanian Information Center in Bălți (CIR) in preserving, promoting, and strengthening the Romanian cultural and linguistic identity in the northern region of the Republic of Moldova. Structured chronologically, the material provides details about the establishment, development, and activities of the Center, emphasizing the support provided by Romania through projects that supply informational resources and technical support. It highlights the positive impact of CIR in promoting the Romanian language, organizing cultural events, and creating an inclusive educational space. The Center’s activities contribute to strengthening cultural ties between Romania and Romanian communities in the Republic of Moldova, through the involvement of local and international partners, as well as through the effective use of digital platforms for disseminating cultural values. The article reflects the complexity and relevance of CIR as a promoter of Romanian identity.

    Video spotul include o prezentare a Centrului de Informare al României inaugurat în luna decembrie 2016 în cadrul Universității de Stat „Alecu Russo” din Bălți, în spaţiile Bibliotecii Ştiinţifice - Centrul de informare al României în Bălţi. Iniţiativa înfiinţării Centrului de la Bălţi datează din primăvara anului 2015 când Universitatea de Stat „Alecu Russo” din Bălţi şi Biblioteca Ştiinţifică au fost vizitate de Angel Tîlvăr, Ministrul delegat pentru relația cu românii de pretutindeni din Guvernul de la București. În cadrul centrului sunt organizate proiecte şi programe de perfecţionare a limbii române, ateliere tematice în domeniul istoriei, geografiei şi civilizaţiei româneşti.

The Central and Eastern European Online Library (CEEOL) is an international database that provides access to academic and cultural publications in the socio-humanistic field in Central and Eastern European countries. It is a database with special features, the only one in the world that advocates and provides content in the native languages of Central and South-Eastern Europe - languages sometimes called “minor”.

    Anuarul bibliografic – 2016 prezintă informaţii despre contribuţiile ştiinţifico-didactice ale universitarilor şi bibliotecarilor materializate în monografii, manuale, cursuri universitare, programe didactice, articole şi comunicări prezentate la manifestări ştiinţifice naţionale şi internaţionale (cuprinde peste 800 de înregistrări bibliografice). Lucrarea este structurată pe facultăţi în ordinea cronologică a constituirii lor, iar în cadrul facultăţilor pe catedre. Înregistrările bibliografice urmează ordinea alfabetică după numele de autor sau titluri de documente.

    Cultura informaţiei bibliotecarului universitar: Tendinţe şi efecte [Articol]

    The article describes the importance of international projects for the development of librarians' skills, their impact on the training ofInformation Literacy trainers. The Information Literacy is part of the professional activity of the librarian, who must learn to learn others. The USARB Scientific Library employs 30 trainers, including 13 national trainers within the Center for Continuing Education of Moldov State University. Annually, over 120 training hours are organized for 44 traineers within the Institutional Professional Development Program, documentary / training visits, summer schools, etc. Within the 2018 Summer School librarians have strengthened and upgraded their skills and abilities by being involved in training, workshops for studying and applying modern information products. The librarian-trainers for Information Literacy in USARB, certified of training courses within the MISISQ -Tempus, WP3 Information Technology Education Partners, LNSS - Erasmus +, Moldova-Norway-Romania Partners have used various forms and interactive methods, applications, presentations, tests, online tutorials, which has greatly facilitated the assimilation and dissemination of knowledge.

    Journal Donation Project – SUA pentru cercetătorii de la Bălţi [Articol]

    În articolul este descris proiectul Journal Donation Project SUA, misiunea căruia este de a dezvolta valoroase colecţii bibliotecare bazate pe informaţii şi date autentice, de care acestea au fost lipsite în perioada regimului politic sau situaţiei economice austere. Prin acest Proiect a fost urmărit scopul de a include cît mai multe biblioteci ştiinţifice şi didactice care se aflau într-o situaţie austeră, precum şi crearea în cadrul lor a celor mai bune resurse ştiinţifice posibile. Colaborarea JDP cu Biblioteca Ştiinţifică a Universităţii „Alecu Russo” din Bălţi a început în anul 1993 prin donarea unei colecţii bogate de reviste academice în limba engleză, de la cele mai prestigioase edituri din SUA.

    A medallion „Librarians in time and space” was organized for the Day of Librarian in Moldova, and was dedicated to great scholars and librarians: Calimah, Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz, Brukenthal Johan W. Goethe, Ivan A. Krylov, Richard Barry, Odobescu Mihai Eminescu, Alexandru Samurcaş, Ion Nistor, Radu Rosetti, Elena Farago, Nikolai Rubakin, Dimitrie Gusti, Perpessicius Shiyi Ramamrita Ranganathan, Tudor Vianu. Librarians talk about the value of books, their ghathering, introduction of accession and inventory of books, creating catalogues and bibliographies, the first public activities and achievements that supported the development of Library Science during centuries. The medallion were coordinated by Elena Harconiţa and Valentina Topalo.
